Scenic spot introduction:

The Shiretoko Peninsula is the world's lowest latitude sea area with sea ice. It is located in the northeast of Hokkaido Island and borders the Sea of Okhotsk. The Shiretoko Peninsula is about 63 kilometers long. The tip of the Shiretoko Cape, "siruetoku" in the Ainu language, means the end of the earth. It is rarely visited and maintains its original appearance, so it is called "Japan's last secret place". The entire peninsula is home to many rare and precious animals and plants in lush and dense virgin forests. The volcanoes such as Mount Shiretoko, Mount Sulfur, Mount Rausus, and Mount Enonebetsu, which belong to the Kuril Volcanic Belt, run almost in a straight line through the center of the peninsula, and volcanic lakes and swamps are scattered among the volcanoes, forming a unique landscape.
