Jinzhou Wanfotang Grottoes are the oldest and largest grottoes in Northeast China. The grottoes were first built during the Northern Wei Dynasty. Due to disrepair, most of them were destroyed. Most of the existing grottoes were rebuilt during the Jiajing Period of the Ming Dynasty. There are more than 20 grottoes and more than 430 statues in the scenic area. The vivid sculptures have strong knife skills and exquisite carvings, which can be called grotto treasures. In addition to the magnificent cultural landscape, the Wanfotang Grottoes also have beautiful natural wonders. The grottoes carved into the cliff face the mighty Daling River, and the scenery is pleasant. Wanfotang Grottoes are divided into east and west areas. The west area was excavated by Yuan Jing, the governor of Yingdong Province in the 23rd year of Taihe in the Northern Wei Dynasty, to pray for the Yellow Emperor. There are 9 caves in the area, divided into upper and lower floors, of which there are 3 small caves on the upper floor and 6 large caves on the lower floor. Part of the alcove. In the eastern area, in the third year of Jingming Dynasty in the Northern Wei Dynasty, Wei Yu, the Khitan envoy Han Zhen, and the local officers and soldiers excavated a private cave. How to get there:
There is currently no direct bus to the scenic spot. Tourists can take a long-distance bus from Yixian to Beipiao, get off at the intersection to the grottoes, and walk for ten minutes to get there; or take a three-wheeled motorcycle in Yixian, which costs 15 yuan to reach the scenic spot.
