Kandy is world-famous as a Buddhist holy land. It is located in the center of Sri Lanka and is built on the lake. It is known as the "Ancient Capital of Ceylon". Kandy is the last capital of the Sinhala dynasty that gave birth to culture for more than 2,500 years. It is now the second largest city in Sri Lanka. Together with Colombo and Anuradhapura, it is known as the Cultural Triangle and is a holy place for tourists.Attractions distribution:

How to get there:
Departing from China, there are three direct flights per week between Beijing and Colombo. SriLankan Airlines has regular flights to the capital Colombo from Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore. There are radial railways from Colombo to other cities in Sri Lanka.

Precautions:
1. You are not allowed to wear shorts and backless clothes when going to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, and girls are not allowed to wear skirts.
2. You are not allowed to wear shoes in the temple. There is a special place to store shoes next to the ticket office. Foreigners are charged 100 rupees.
3. Water lily is the national flower of Sri Lanka. It can be purchased at the entrance of the temple to worship the Buddha for about 25 rupees a handful.

Buddha Tooth Relic Festival: Every year in August, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple holds a grand event that lasts for 10 days. It is one of the largest Buddhist festivals in the world, attracting Buddhists from all over the world as well as thousands of tourists. During the parade, the chief guardian of the Temple of the Tooth Relic, the abbot of the temple and other important officials participating in the parade were all dressed in ancient Kandyan court costumes. The chief guardian of the Temple of the Tooth Relic was even supported by warriors holding spears and shields, other eminent monks from the temple and the canopy. The team marched together, grandly and solemnly.
Best time to visit:
Traveling in July and August coincides with the Buddha Tooth Relic Festival.
