The University of Science and Technology Beijing is a key university under the national “211, 985 and 111” projects. It was established in 1952 by the departments of mining and metallurgy of six well-known domestic universities, including the former Peiyang University and Tsinghua University. It was originally named Beijing Iron and Steel (Industry) College. It was changed to its current name in 1988. Now it has developed into a college with a focus on engineering and engineering. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education that coordinates the development of science, management, liberal arts, economics, law and other disciplines. It is one of the first universities in the country to formally establish a graduate school.
