Ningxia University is a comprehensive university jointly established by the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Education. The school is located in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It has the right to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. In October 2008, Ningxia University became the country’s first key construction school selected for the third phase of the “211 Project”.

Ningxia University has three campuses: the main campus, the south campus and the independent college (Xinhua College). The campus covers a total area of ​​2,307 acres (excluding Xinhua College), with a construction area of ​​640,000 square meters and a teaching experimental farm of 1,695 acres.
Ningxia University has 23 colleges. There are currently 68 undergraduate majors in 9 disciplines.
