Harbin Institute of Technology is one of the seven national key universities directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is a university under the National 985 Project and the 211 Project, a famous university focused on the national "111 Plan" and the "Mount Everest Plan", and a "Nine-Nine" University. One of the “College Alliance” (referred to as C9). Founded in 1920, in the 1950s, Harbin Institute of Technology was one of the two institutions designated by the Chinese government to learn from the advanced education system of the Soviet Union. The school is located in the ice city of Harbin in northern China. Harbin Institute of Technology has three campuses, namely Harbin Campus 1 and 2, Weihai Campus and Shenzhen Campus. The Harbin campus is located in the center of Harbin, known as the "Moscow of the East". It covers an area of ​​347.33 hectares and has a construction area of ​​2.0205 million square meters. Teaching, scientific research and living facilities are complete.
Weihai campus is located in Weihai, a coastal city on the Jiaodong Peninsula known as "Oriental Hawaii". Surrounded by mountains and the sea, the environment is elegant, integrating ecology and art, with complete modern facilities and a construction area of ​​383,000 square meters. The Shenzhen campus is located on the bank of Xili Lake in Nanshan District, covering an area of ​​16.28 hectares. Surrounded by green mountains on all sides, the Shahe River runs through the university town, which is highly harmonious with nature and blends with the mountains and rivers.
