Scenic spot introduction:

The original site of Zhongshan Park was the governor's office of the Qing Dynasty. It was built as a park during the Republic of China. It is located to the north of Weiyuan Building at the north gate of Quanzhou City. In the 1950s, the square in the park was turned into a football field, and the commemorative stone monument and pavilion were abandoned. A wall was built in 1957, a lighted stadium was built in 1960, and it was changed to the People's Stadium in 1986. In 2000, the Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, and Licheng District Party Committee and District Government decided to make architectural adjustments on the original basis, transforming the former single-category sports park into a comprehensive park integrating leisure, fitness, and culture.
