Scenic spot introduction:

The ancient city of Quzhou is a national-level historical and cultural city, known as "the thoroughfare of four provinces and the head of five roads". The six existing ancient city gates in the city are connected by a 2,000-meter-long ancient city wall. It is one of the most complete preserved prefectural cities in Zhejiang Province. The city wall was first built in the fourth year of Wude in the Tang Dynasty and continued to be repaired from the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. Later, the city wall was gradually destroyed due to the baptism of war and natural and man-made disasters. In recent years, after renovations by the Quzhou Municipal Government, the Great South Gate, Small South Gate, Great West Gate and East Gate have been restored to good condition, recreating the grandeur of the ancient city of Quzhou. In 2006, the ancient city wall of Quzhou was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit.

The ancient city wall of Quzhou has a long history and there are many ruins around it. The relatively intact existing ones include Xi'an Gate, Shuiting Gate, Tongxian Gate, Yinghe Gate, Lixian Gate, Tongguang Gate, Gongchen Gate, Xincheng Gate, Doutan, Nanhu, Donghao, etc. After government repairs and reconstruction, most of the city gates and walls have been restored to their original appearance. The completion of the ancient city wall ruins park and bell tower has also brought a refreshing feeling to Quzhou, making the city more complete and spectacular.
