Scenic spot introduction:

Weiyugou is the original elm forest with a history of more than 3,000 years and is known as the "living fossil on earth". Located in Qiparga Asigou in Dongsarbulake Town, Huocheng County, Yili, it is about 1,100 meters above sea level. There are more than 10,000 ancient elm trees growing in an area of more than 10 kilometers long, 0.1-0.2 kilometers wide, and covering an area of more than 1,300 hectares. These elm trees are all over a hundred years old, and there are more than 6,000 of them over 200 years old. The strange elm forest is lush and green, blocking out the sky and the sun, and is impressive. Each elm tree is so thick that it requires one or two adults to hug it to surround it. The trunk and crown of the tree are strange and different from those of ordinary elm trees. The ancient elms in Guiyugou have strange shapes. Many of the elm trunks have been hollowed out and their branches are twisted, as if they are roaring up to the sky or bending down to nod. The shapes are all different and strange. Ancient Yulin is like an ancient battlefield. It has experienced cruel fighting. Ancient Yulin stands upright like a body of steel and iron bones, always maintaining that desolate, majestic and thrilling posture.
