Tayun Mountain was once called "Taoer Mountain" because it resembled a pagoda and towered into the clouds. Yan Anlan, a Jinshi of Zhen'an in the Qing Dynasty, renamed it "Tayun Mountain". It is located in Chaiping Town, 35 kilometers southwest of Zhen'an County, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province. Tayun Mountain Scenic Area has both the majesty of the northern mountain and the beauty of the southern mountain. It is unique and has the reputation of "the golden dome tattoos the sky, the sea of pine trees and the clouds and mist". The old records of Zhen'an call it "Yixi Wonderland". The famous Taoist holy land in the Qinling Mountains. Tayun Mountain is known as "a pillar of Qin and Chu, the best Taoist temple". It is famous for its danger, strangeness, beauty, majesty and god. It not only has a profound and long-standing Taoist culture, but also has gorgeous and colorful natural scenery. Everyone has agreed to form three major temple fairs a year. These three temple fairs are February 19th, June 19th, and September 19th of the lunar calendar. Legend has it that February 19th is the birthday of Guanyin Bodhisattva, June 19th is the day when Guanyin Bodhisattva became enlightened, and September 19th is the day when Guanyin became an immortal.

It can be enjoyed in any four seasons, but autumn is the best.

How to get there:
Take a bus from Xi'an South Passenger Terminal (Mingdemen), via Xikang Expressway for 98 kilometers to Zhen'an, and then transfer to a tourist bus in Zhen'an County for 35 kilometers to Tayun Mountain. Or take the train and get off at Zhenan Station, then transfer to the bus to Tayun Mountain.

80 yuan/person in peak season, 60 yuan/person in off-season, half ticket 40 yuan/person (peak season is from April 1st to October 30th, low season is from November 1st to March 31st of the following year)
