Shen Garden is the only Song-style garden that has been preserved among the many classical gardens in Shaoxing's history. It is also known as Shen's Garden. The garden is located on Lu Xun Middle Road in Shaoxing City, covering an area of more than 70 acres. It is the private garden of the wealthy businessman Shen's family. According to legend, Lu You, a patriotic poet of the Southern Song Dynasty, first married Tang Wan. The couple had a deep love for each other, but they were later forced to divorce. In the spring of the 21st year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1151), the two met in Shen Garden. Lu You felt sad and wrote the poem "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix" on In the wall, the pain of "leaving the rope" was expressed. Tang Wan saw it and made peace with it. His love was desolate, and he soon died of depression. This ancient garden is also known because of this poignant and touching love story.

Shen Garden is divided into three parts: the historical area, Dongyuan and Nanyuan. The gourd pond and hill in the historical area are still the original remains of the Song Dynasty, and most of the rest have been restored based on archaeological excavations. Dongyuan, located on the east side of the historical area, is also known as the Lovers' Garden and fully displays the characteristics of Jiangnan gardening. Nanyuan is located at the southern end of the historical area and is mainly composed of Lianli Garden and Lu You Memorial Hall. The garden has pavilions, small bridges, flowing water, and shady trees, including Guhe Pavilion, Banbi Pavilion, Shuanggui Hall, Bayong Tower, Songjing, Shepu, Wenmeijian, Qintai and Guangsuzhai. It forms "Love Song of Broken Clouds", "Love in Poetic Land", "Shocking Waves of Spring", "Remnant of the Broken Wall", "Crying of the Lone Crane", "Bright Lotus Reflecting the Sun", "Resent Willows on the Palace Wall", "Stepping on the Willow" There are ten scenes: "Snow Asks Plum Blossoms", "Poems and Books Fragrance" and "Magpie Bridge Conveying Love".
