Socotra Islands Travel Guide
Scenic spot introduction:
Socotra is considered the "Galapagos of the Indian Ocean" and is a very important biodiversity base in the world. It is known as the "living museum of biological evolution". Located at the intersection of the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden, it consists of 4 small islands and 2 rocky islands. It is the maritime lifeline connecting the three continents of Asia, Africa and Europe. Because the islands are still in an undeveloped state, they are called "Virgin Island in the Indian Ocean". The island has been isolated from the continental plate for 18 million years, and the long-term geographical isolation has produced many unique animals and plants. 37% of Socotra's plants (825 species in total), 90% of its reptiles and 95% of its snails are unique to the island.
