Scenic spot introduction:

There is a legend about the origin of Liuchi Alley in Tongcheng: According to legend, during the Kangxi period, Zhang Ying, a native of Tongcheng, became prime minister in Beijing. His family planned to expand the mansion and repair the courtyard wall, and asked the neighbor Wu Mansion to give up three feet of land. The Wu Mansion did not buy into the Zhang Mansion's unreasonable demands at all. Seeing that the Wu government was refusing to give up any land, the Zhang family encouraged Mrs. Zhang to compile a book and send it to the capital. After Zhang Ying read the letter, he was deeply worried about the misdeeds of his family members who relied on official power and bullied the villagers, so he replied with a poem: A letter from home thousands of miles away is only a wall, so why not let it be three feet away? The Great Wall is still there today, but Qin Shihuang is nowhere to be seen. When Mrs. Zhang saw this poem, she immediately ordered her servants to step back three feet and build a wall. When the master of the Wu family learned about this, he was very moved and asked his family to move the courtyard wall back three feet. Local people talked about it and named this small alley "Liu Chi Alley".
