Qinggeda Lake in Wujiaqu, Xinjiang, is based on the "First Reservoir of Military Reclamation" Mengjin Reservoir. It is a multi-functional reservoir integrating agricultural water supply, fishery breeding, entertainment, and ecological environment regulation. It is also a water source for Urumqi and can regulate Urumqi at the same time. The surrounding climate can store floods and prevent disasters, and can also replenish groundwater. It is an important ecological position in Urumqi and is known as the "kidney of the capital".

The Qinggeda Lake tourist area is backed by the Tianshan Mountains. It was originally a seasonal lake. The lake was originally named Black Dragon Spring, Black Dragon Pool, Qinglong Pool, etc. "Qinggeda" is Mongolian, meaning "water of the gods". Qinggeda Lake is the birthplace of Xinjiang's military reclamation culture. After the liberation of Xinjiang, General Wang Zhen led the officers and soldiers of the Sixth Agricultural Division to build a dam here. The original seasonal small lake was built into an artificial reservoir: Mengjin Reservoir.
