Wat Arun in Bangkok, Thailand, also known as Temple of the Dawn, is one of the royal temples in Thailand. It was built to commemorate the 41st king of Thailand and national hero Zheng Zhao. Wat Arun has the largest Mahayana relic-style pagoda in Thailand, so it is known as the "Thailand Eiffel Tower". It is the greatest innovation and the most splendid cultural heritage left by King Mengkut during the Ayutthaya period. This makes Temple Arun the oldest building and the most visited temple on the Chao Phraya River today. Climbing to the top of the tower, the cityscape of Bangkok on the river bank comes into view. Wat Arun is located on the Chao Phraya River in the core area of Bangkok, with Wat Pho and the Grand Palace on the opposite bank. There is a giant stone statue of the patron saint at the entrance of the temple. There are five identical pagodas in the temple, one large and four small. The big tower is a 79-meter-high Brahmin-style minaret - Badang Tower. There are stairs inside the tower for tourists to climb; there are accompanying towers on each side, with different colors and grandeur. There are layers of Buddha statues carved into the recesses on all sides of the pagoda; from the ground to the top of the pagoda, various colorful porcelain fragments are inlaid with various floral decorations, and the foundation is painted with huge pictures. In addition, the temple also has a Buddhist hall, a Buddhist hall, a square hall with Buddha's footprints inside, a Buddhist pagoda, a crown-shaped spire gatehouse, a Buddhist pavilion, a 6-meter-high troll sculpture, a cloister, a rockery, and a Chinese stone statue.Scenic spot features:

Wait until the sun is setting to go to Temple Arun. This is when the light is best and you can best see its beauty. When you climb to a high place, you can overlook the scenery on both sides of the Chao Phraya River and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha opposite.
The steps of Temple Arun are very high and steep. You must lighten your load before going there, and be careful going up and down! It is not recommended for those who are elderly or have weak legs and feet to climb up.
The Royal Ceremony held in December every year is the largest celebration of Wat Arun and one of the important festivals of the Thai dynasty.

How to get there:
After taking the bus to Tha Tien (N8) pier, take the ferry to the other side of the river (3 baht one way); or take bus 19, 57, or 83.
By car or boat, get off at Arun Amarin Road or Tha Tian Pier.
When you come out of Wat Pho, follow the crowd to the pier and ferry to the other side.
