Scenic spot introduction:

Wenchengyan Nunnery is located on the hillside of Yunfeng Mountain in Shanmen Village, Dayi Town, Wencheng County, Zhejiang Province. It is also known as Baiyun Nunnery. Founded in the Tang Dynasty, the main existing building, the Main Hall, was rebuilt in the You year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1417). Sitting north and facing south, it is built against the cliff cave wall, with half exposed ridge eaves and hanging from the top of the mountain. It is five rooms wide and three rooms deep. In the Ming Dynasty, there are statues of the Three Jewels Buddha, with monks' rooms on the left and right, and murals on the walls. There are clear springs flowing all year round, and there are always clouds and mist floating around. The front of the main hall is 4.5 meters wide and 4.5 meters deep. The Weituo Hall is built in the attic style and rests on the mountain. A simple mountain gate is built at the west end; the Dizang Hall and Guanyin Pavilion are attached to the east by stone steps; 20 meters away is the Xu Zhenjun Temple built in the Qing Dynasty, which is three rooms deep and three rooms wide. Inside and outside the hall, there are 10 inscriptions from the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China. Surrounded by bluestone ladders, double stone candles, sunny and rainy storms, Dishui Rock, Immortal Bridge, Longzui Rock, Tuotian Cave, Welcoming Monks and other beautiful scenery, it has been a place of worship for believers in the past and a tourist attraction for the world.
