Mingyin Temple, also known as Xiao Mingyin, is one of the four famous temples in Wenling (Changyu Chongguo Temple, Panlangliuqing Temple, Songmen Puzhao Temple) and the seat of the Wenling Buddhist Association. The temple was built in the fifth year of Xiantong in the Tang Dynasty and has a history of 1,149 years. It was once a branch of Guoqing Temple in Tiantai Mountain. The temple is located at the foothills of Longming Mountain in Jiangxia Township, Wenling City, Zhejiang Province, about eight kilometers away from the county seat. The Meixi River runs across its front, surrounded by towering ancient trees, bamboo paths, and cold springs. It is a blessed place to pay homage to Buddhism and a cave for washing deer lapels. Mingyin Temple has gone through many vicissitudes of life, rising and falling several times. During the Republic of China, it was one of the largest temples in Taizhou, and its incense was extremely popular. In February every year, the altar is opened to give ordination, and the ordination is given to all counties in Fujian and Zhejiang. There is now a collection of Buddhist scriptures in the temple, some catalpa trees planted in the Ming Dynasty, and seven Buddha statues strung with bronze strings.

The temple now covers an area of ​​20 square acres and is divided into three parts: central, west and east. The central part is the main part, and there is a forest park on the west side. When you step into the mountain gate, you will see the Tianwang Hall, which has been rebuilt in recent years, with the bell tower on the right and the drum tower on the left. To the north is the Main Hall, to the east is the Jialan Hall, behind the Main Hall is the Abbot Pavilion, and on the east and west sides are offices and rest areas. In addition, the temple has also rebuilt the ground floor. Cangdian, Qitang and other buildings. The whole temple is towering, exquisitely constructed, unique and solemn. 1. The eighth day of April is the birthday of the Buddha Sakyamuni. Every year, the temple holds a religious ceremony to "eliminate disasters, relieve disasters, increase blessings and extend life" in the Main Hall. More than 20 monks, 50 lay people and a hundred believers attend the ceremony on the seventh night and the first day of the lunar month respectively. Buddhist sutras are recited at the Eight Yin and Mao hours.
