Scenic spot introduction:

Yongchang Fort, commonly known as Xincheng, was an anti-Japanese fort in the Ming Dynasty. Built in 1558 (the 37th year of Jiajing reign in the Ming Dynasty), it is located in Yongchang Town, Longwan District, Wenzhou City. In the Ming Dynasty, the coast of Wenzhou was invaded by Japanese pirates, and the Yongqiang anti-Japanese leaders Wang Pei and Wang De's uncle and nephew died. Later brothers Shuguo and Shudai initiated the construction of this fort to fight against Japanese invaders. The castle is rectangular, 738 meters long from north to south, 445 meters wide from east to west, with a circumference of 2366 meters. The city wall is 8 meters high and the base is 4 meters wide. Use stones to build a rampart and ram the earth in the middle. The city is surrounded by a moat, and there are two canals dug into the city. Residents live on both sides of the canal, which is very neat and tidy.
