The City God's Temple was built in the 20th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1387). It was originally located on Jiuyao Street inside the east gate. It was moved to its current location in the 8th year of Xuande's reign in the Ming Dynasty (1432). It was one of the three largest City God's temples in the world at that time, and governed several provinces in the northwest. , so it is called "Chenghuang Temple". The Capital God's Temple is adjacent to the north side of the middle section of West Street, between Beiguangji Street and Daxue Lane. It is an antique building in the Ming and Qing Dynasty styles. It is one of the only two remaining Taoist temples in the city.
