Duolun Lake Scenic Area was rated as one of the two most beautiful autumn scenes in China by Travel and Leisure Magazine in 2011. Its predecessor is the Xishanwan Reservoir, the largest water conservancy project on the Xilingol Grassland. The Xishanwan Reservoir was built on the upper reaches of the Luan River. Duolun Lake is located in the upper reaches of the Luan River, which is the only river flowing out into the sea in Xilingol League. The scenic spot is composed of seven connected large and small pools, forming two lake centers, two large peninsulas, and a sand peninsula.
