Xinjiang Pamir Plateau Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

The Pamir Plateau of Xinjiang is a must-pass place for the "Silk Road" opened up since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. As early as the Han Dynasty of China, it was known as the "Congling Mountains" and was named because of its many wild onions or green cliffs. The Pamir Plateau is located in southeastern Central Asia and the western end of China, spanning Tajikistan, China and Afghanistan. At present, except for the eastern slopes which are still under the jurisdiction of China, most of them belong to Tajikistan, and only the Wakhan Pamir belongs to Afghanistan.

The Pamir Plateau is the junction of two huge mountain belts on the earth (the Alps-Himalayas belt and the Pamir-Chukchi Mountains belt). It is also the gathering place of major mountain ranges in Asia, including the Himalayas, Karakoram Mountains, and Kunlun Mountains. It has five major mountain ranges: Tianshan Mountains, Tianshan Mountains and Hindu Kush Mountains. It has undulating mountains and continuous snow-capped peaks that tower into the sky. It is known as the roof of Asia.
