Scenic spot introduction:

Imperial Gate Street was named after the "Gate of Jingbiao Xu Yinpei Shangyi" built in the 20th year of Chenghua reign of Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty (1484). At that time, there was a Xu Yonghan here, who was famous in the countryside for his filial piety. In the 18th year of Chenghua (1482), he responded to the call of Liu Xun, the magistrate of Yongjia County, and donated grain to help the hungry people in Yueqing tide over their difficulties. Liu Xun reported to the Ministry of Rites to honor his family. In the 20th year of Chenghua (1484), Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty granted the construction of the "Jingbiao Xu Yinpei Shangyi Gate". The locals called it the Imperial Gate Tower, and the street where the gatehouse is located was called the Imperial Gate Street. The entire Imperial Palace Street belongs to the provincial historical and cultural protection zone. The street is 600 meters long and 3.5 meters wide. The old houses on both sides of the street are quite simple, mostly with wooden structures. It has research reference value for examining the evolution of architectural styles in the past dynasties. On the evening of June 26, 2011, a sudden fire burned down 30 shophouses along the street east of the Imperial Gate Tower. A 500-year-old ancient street left large ruins, and a century-old banyan tree also had many branches and leaves scorched. On March 3, 2013, another fire broke out and more than 10 Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings were burned down.
