Yonsei University in South Korea is the oldest university in South Korea. It originated in 1885. Its predecessors were Yanxi University, Guanghui Institute and Expo Lance Medical University. In January 1957, Yanxi University and Shibo Lance Medical University officially merged, taking one word from each of the original school names and naming them Yonsei University. Yonsei University is an institution of higher learning established based on the Christian spirit. In the spirit of truth and freedom, we are committed to cultivating social talents who contribute to the country and mankind. Yonsei University is known for its long history and international reputation as the most leading institution of higher learning in South Korea. It is one of the three top universities in South Korea (S.K.Y) along with Seoul National University and Korea University.

Yonsei University is the oldest school in South Korea and an institution of higher learning based on the Christian spirit. Its school emblem and eagle statue are the symbols of the school. The bronze statue of the founder of the school, Won Do-woo (Underwood), stands on the In front of the Underwood Hall, the campus has beautiful scenery. The main locations include Yanxi Hall, Samsung Academic Information Institute, amphitheater, Luce Chapel, Central Library, etc. The main activities of the school include Yangao Festival and Datong Festival.
