Zhejiang Nanji Islands Marine National Nature Reserve is located in the eastern sea of ​​Pingyang County, Zhejiang Province, with a total area of ​​200 square kilometers, a land area of ​​11.3 square kilometers, and 52 large and small islands. There is the Shell River Beach which is 800 meters wide and 600 meters long; there are 368 kinds of fish such as abalone and precious grouper, which are the first of the eight treasures in the sea; there are 180 kinds of shrimps and crabs and hundreds of terrestrial animals. There are 403 species of shellfish and 174 species of algae, accounting for more than 20% of the total number of marine shellfish and algae in China. It is known as the "Kingdom of Shellfish and Algae". It is one of the first five marine nature reserves in China approved by the State Council in 1990.
