Zhoushan Ant Island is the smallest island in the Zhoushan Islands. When viewed from the air, it looks like an ant crawling in the East China Sea, so it is named after it. The island is small in size and its terrain is mainly mountainous. It faces Peach Blossom Island in Jin Yong's works across the harbor and is 6.5 nautical miles away from Shenjiamen Fishing Port. It is the seat of Antdao Township Government in Putuo District. In September 1958, Ant Island established the country's first people's commune - Ant Island People's Commune. The well-known song "Night at the Military Port" was written by the military writer Ma Jinxing during his experience of life on Ant Island, so the island was named after the song. The quiet harbor and rough waves left a deep imprint on the hearts of people in the 1960s and 1970s. The coastline of Ant Island is winding, with alternating bays and capes. Most of the bays are horseshoe-shaped, making it a good haven for fishing boats. Ant Island Township is backed by green mountains and faces the sea. Here there are many harbors and cruise ships. The island is rich in green trees and lush vegetation. Most of the residents make a living by fishing. You can often see women busy weaving fishing nets in front of every house. 1. Take bus No. 1 or 2 at Zhoushan Shenjiamen Bus Station to Duntou Pier, and then transfer to the shuttle boat or cruise ship bound for Ant Island.
2. Take the shuttle bus bound for Taohua Island at Ningbo Guoju Chedu Wharf or Ningbo North Bus Station, get off and transfer to the ferry to Ant Island.
