Introduction to the Mutahari Mosque: The Mutahari Mosque is located east of Bahoristan Square. It was built in 1890 and was originally named "Masjidi Sipasa Lawler", also known as "The Commander-in-Chief" Mosque", is the largest and most important mosque in Tehran. It is both a mosque and a seminary, with eight interconnected minarets. The minaret is not high, with a small cylindrical tower on the top. Yellow and blue are the main colors throughout the building. The brick surface of the mosque is shiny, with simple interlaced patterns and exquisite tones: light blue, light yellowish brown and elegant white. The library in the mosque contains 5,000 manuscripts, some of which are unique. Today, there are still many students studying in seminaries.
