Tehran is the capital of Iran and the capital of Tehran Province. It is located at the foot of the Alborz Mountains. The urban area is spread out on a plain, and the suburbs are surrounded by the Alborz Mountains and arc-shaped hills to the east, west and north. Tehran has a long history and is known as the "Flower City" with all kinds of flowers blooming all year round.

Taxis in Tehran do not take travelers to their destinations, but operate on main transport arteries like minibuses.
