Tehran is the capital of Iran and the capital of Tehran Province. It is located at the foot of the Alborz Mountains. The urban area is spread out on a plain, and the suburbs are surrounded by the Alborz Mountains and arc-shaped hills to the east, west and north. Tehran has a long history and is known as the "Flower City" with all kinds of flowers blooming all year round.

Two wide and straight boulevards run through the city from north to south and from east to west.
