Hongya Liujiang Ancient Town in Meishan is one of the top ten ancient towns in Sichuan and an excellent place for cultural tours. Liujiang has a long history and outstanding people. The father and son Zhang Peng and Zhang Keshu, the "double Jinshi" in the Ming Dynasty; the famous calligrapher Zhang Daijiang, the poet Yuan Wenzao, and the imperial teacher Zeng Biguang in the Qing Dynasty; the modern patriotic progressive Yang Maoxiu and the anti-Japanese hero Tang Gongliang have created a historical monument of the ancient town. Since ancient times, this place has been the home of elegant women. The culture of "elegant women" who are chaste, virtuous, hard-working, gentle and elegant has a long history and is a major brand of Hongya local culture. Liujiang Ancient Town is located on both sides of the Liujiang River, a tributary of the Huaxi River, 35 kilometers southwest of Hongya County.
