Toshodai Temple is a famous ancient temple located in Nishikyo Gojo Street, Nara City, Japan. It was built in 759 AD by the eminent monk Jianzhen of the Tang Dynasty in China. It and Todai-ji Temple's Jiedan-in Temple are two major venues for the dissemination and research of legal studies. It has the architectural style of the prosperous Tang Dynasty in China. Tangzhaoti Temple has buildings such as the golden hall, lecture hall, sutra collection, treasures, auditorium, and drum tower. There is a seated statue of Master Jianzhen. How to get there:
Bus: Take a 15-minute bus east from downtown Nara to Toshodaiji Temple and Yakushiji Temple. There are direct bus lines from JR Kinki Station to Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine.
