Introduction to Chiang Kai-shek's hideout: At about 4 o'clock in the morning on December 12, 1936, Zhang and Yang led their troops to surround Huaqingchi. Chiang Kai-shek, who was sleeping soundly, suddenly heard the sound of gunshots and panicked with the support of two guards. He escaped from the back window of the fifth hall of Huaqing Pool and hid in a stone gorge cave on the east side of a tiger spot halfway up the mountain. Later, he was discovered by the mountain search troops, helped him down the mountain, and was sent to Xi'an.
