Day7 China Railway Museum

Friends who know me well know that my brother is a train fan and likes trains and all kinds of rail transportation very much.

So on the last day of our trip to Beijing, our plan was to go to the China Railway Museum.

The China Railway Museum is the only national-level professional railway museum in China. It has three branches: Zhengyangmen Exhibition Hall, Dongjiao Exhibition Hall and Zhan Tianyou Memorial Hall.

We have seen the Zhengyangmen Exhibition Hall next to Tiananmen Square, but we felt that due to the limited area, there were not many real trains inside. Just like the Shanghai Railway Museum we went to before, it contained more graphic materials, train models and the like. content.

Children would like to see real trains more, so we chose to go to Dongjiao Pavilion. In fact, Dongjiao Pavilion was the right place to go!

The Dongjiao Exhibition Hall is located on the north side of Jiuxian Bridge in Chaoyang District, Beijing, with a construction area of ​​20,500 square meters. It is divided into a rolling stock exhibition hall and a comprehensive exhibition hall. The rolling stock exhibition hall displays more than a hundred rolling stock from different periods, types and systems of China's railways, especially the earliest existing steam locomotive "0" in China and the "Mao Zedong" and "Zhu De" locomotives named after revolutionary leaders. It can be called a "treasure" among China's railway cultural relics; the comprehensive exhibition hall seemed not to be open last time.

After entering the gate, the first thing we saw was the outdoor train and rails. The children were very excited, but it was too hot that day and we were worried about getting heat stroke in the bright sun, so we didn't stop and went directly to the indoor exhibition hall.

As soon as they entered the indoor exhibition hall, the children screamed "Wow!"

It was so shocking before my eyes! On display are real and huge trains of all kinds! The number and scale are so large that it is the first time for the children to see it!

On the right side of the entrance, there is a row of official cars that Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou used to ride in. You can visit it. My brother couldn't wait to get inside the train, so we visited the official cars first.

You need to buy an additional ticket to visit the official car, and the ticket price is 10 yuan/person.

After visiting, I couldn’t help but sigh, the official cars of previous leaders were really too simple!

Since the exit is on the right hand side of the entrance, after visiting the official cars, we decided to visit clockwise starting from the left hand side.

Don’t worry about not understanding each train, because there will be an introduction board erected next to each train to give a general introduction to the train. So when my two children asked me about train information, I could tell them confidently!

When you reach a small overpass, you must go up and take a look. The view is particularly good! All trains at a glance! Particularly impressive!

Continue visiting after coming down. What I find amazing is that my brother basically asked to take photos with every train, but my younger brother didn’t ask for photos very often~

After finishing the indoor tour, we came out to an outdoor platform with a retro style - the Times Station. This outdoor area is covered so you can play around here.

The children were walking around on the railway tracks, while we sat aside and rested. Not far away was the China Film Museum, which was visible to the naked eye and very close. If you have the energy, you can stop by and visit.

We didn’t go there. We were a little tired from playing during this period. After visiting the Railway Museum, we went back to the hotel to have a good rest~

On the 8th day, we originally went to Daxing International Airport half a day in advance, thinking that we would just visit the world's largest airport. As a result, the flight was delayed by 7 hours, so we stayed at Daxing International Airport for a day. It was considered a one-day trip to Daxing International Airport. . I have written about it in the micro headlines, but the content is not much, so I won’t write an article.

At this point, the 8 days and 7 nights travelogue in Beijing is complete.

In fact, there are some small regrets. For example, it is a bit regretful that I did not go to the Imperial Academy, the Imperial Ancestral Temple, and the Old Summer Palace. It is also a bit regretful that Tsinghua University and Peking University are not open due to the epidemic. But think about it, time is limited and physical strength is limited, it is impossible to play them all, you can only make choices.

In fact, it doesn’t matter. Some small regrets also constitute the motivation to go again next time!

Overall, this trip to Beijing was very successful. The two children also had a great time. They were deeply impressed by Beijing. Watching TV and seeing Tiananmen Square, listening to stories and hearing about the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, etc., make me feel very friendly and familiar. After returning home, I reviewed my trip to Beijing many times. For a long time, my bedtime stories were about my trip to Beijing.

Tips:

1. Tickets for the China Railway Museum are 20 yuan per person, half ticket for those above 1.2 meters, and free for those below 1.2 meters. I personally think that children over 1.2 meters but under 7 years old should also be free of charge, but Hu Xiansen bought the tickets too quickly at that time and bought it for his brother without asking. We just bought it and didn't ask any more questions.

2. The transportation in Dongjiao Pavilion is not very convenient. There is no subway, but there are buses. We went by taxi.
