The Shijiazhuang Municipal Museum was opened on November 12, 1991, the 44th anniversary of the liberation of Shijiazhuang. It has a construction area of ​​6,292 square meters, 5 exhibition halls of 2,519 square meters and 1 multi-functional hall. It has a collection of 8,152 cultural relics and 240 first- and second-class cultural relics. The collection mainly consists of paintings, calligraphy and tablets, as well as some ceramics, gold, stone, copper, jade and other miscellaneous items. The collection was transferred to Wujiazhuang by agencies directly under the central government, the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region, the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan Border Region and other units after the liberation of Shijiazhu in 1947. It is an important cultural property that was preserved through hardships during the war years.
