Shiping Yilong Lake, one of the five largest lakes in Yunnan, is a great place to enjoy lotuses in midsummer. It is the most important water landscape in Shiping County, which is known as "a famous country in literature". The vast blue waves of Yilong Lake are as quiet and beautiful as a dreamland. It can be called the "Second West Lake". Literati of the past dynasties left many poems praising its scenery. The large and small water cities bear witness to the history of generations, and wars have occurred here several times. However, despite the many disasters, they never affected the beauty of Yilong Lake. Riding on the lake in a wooden boat, the breeze blows on your face, the orioles sing and the swallows dance, and you feel like a fairy.

Yilong Lake is located about 1 km from the east gate of the county, covering an area of ​​about 150 square kilometers. The scenic spot consists of three areas: Yilong Lake, Ancient City, and Baoxiu. The lake is formed by the confluence of 20 rivers and has three islands. Landscapes such as Houle Pavilion, Laihe Pavilion, and wooden plank roads are arranged around the lake. In summer, lotus flowers are in full bloom, water birds depend on each other, and there are many tourists. Shiping Ancient City and Baoxiu Ancient Town have the most traditional architecture and folk customs, and many remaining monuments are also hidden in them.
