Introduction to the Roosevelt Area: The northeastern part of Yellowstone Park is the Roosevelt Area, which is famous for its round mountainous area. It retains the natural landscape of the Old West and the Bannack Trail dug by the ancient Indians. The Roosevelt area is best suited for horseback riding or stagecoach tours. Herds of American elk and bison can be seen everywhere, trout swarm in clear streams, and sagebrush and Douglas fir trees are everywhere on the rounded hills. It is a great place to walk through the grass and Sage-covered hills and forest roads.
