Suzhou Chamber of Commerce Museum Introduction: Shantang is located near Changmen and was the largest commercial center in southeastern my country during the Kangxi and Qianlong years of the Qing Dynasty. Goods from all over the country were transferred here and shipped to other parts of the world through Songjiang and Taicang Liujia Port. Therefore, businessmen from all over the country established their own guild halls in Shantang Street. Shantang Street once had nearly fourteen guild halls (the predecessor of the Chamber of Commerce). The year 2005 coincides with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Suzhou Chamber of Commerce. Initiated by the Suzhou Municipal Government, the Jinchang District Government, Suzhou Archives, and Suzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce jointly organized the construction of this Chamber of Commerce Museum.
