Introduction to the main building of the library: The Weihai campus library was founded in 1987, and the new library was completed and put into use in 2003. The main body of the new building has 12 floors, with a total construction area of 20,000 square meters. Up to now, it has a collection of more than 1.1 million volumes of Chinese and foreign books, 30,000 volumes of bound newspapers and periodicals, more than 2,400 kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals, and more than 100 kinds of newspapers. In addition to printed books and periodicals, the library also has a wealth of electronic documents and more than 60 Chinese and foreign databases, including 34 official databases. The building is equipped with modern equipment such as central air conditioning, automatic fire protection, building monitoring and electronic screens. There are nearly 3,000 reading seats and nearly 1,000 information retrieval points. The library adopts a fully open-shelf service method and implements integrated lending management. It is open 98 hours a week and is open as usual on holidays.
