Introduction to the library: The library, also known as the calligraphy and painting building, is located opposite Deyue Tower. It was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. It was a famous calligraphy and painting market in the late Qing Dynasty. In the first year of Xuantong (1909), the Yuyuan Calligraphy and Painting Association was established here, and famous calligraphers and painters from Shanghai often came to the gathering. The upper floor is now a showroom for Shanghai-style calligraphy and painting.
