In the 26th year of Guangxu (AD 1900), Wu Xiangsheng, Nanxiang Town, Jiading County, opened a dim sum shop here. At first, the shop was named Changxing Tower. It was changed to Nanxiang Steamed Bun Shop, which specializes in Nanxiang Xiaolong Steamed Buns, which have the characteristics of thin skin and large fillings. It became famous throughout the country in the 1920s and 1930s.
