Introduction to the ancient city wall: The ancient city wall of the East Gate is the best-preserved city wall. The ancient city wall of Qianyang was built in Xuzhou Tucheng in the second year of Jianzhong of the Tang Dynasty (781). It was rebuilt into a red sandstone city wall in the fifteenth year of Zhengtong in the Ming Dynasty (1450). It has a circumference of five miles, a height of seven feet and a width of nine feet. There are five city gate towers, four of which face the river, and only the east gate faces the land.
