Introduction to Tiemenguan: Tiemenguan was built during the Three Kingdoms period. "Wu and Wei were fighting over each other, so it was established here." From the Three Kingdoms period to the early Tang Dynasty, it had been an important military fortress in Wuhan for hundreds of years. After the brick city was built in Hanyang in the fourth year of Wude in the Tang Dynasty (AD 621), the military role of Tiemenguan gradually weakened and it became an important channel for cultural, economic and trade exchanges. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Tiemenguan was destroyed, leaving only the earth foundation and walls. In the early Qing Dynasty, the Guandi Temple was built on the remaining earth foundation. In the early years of the Republic of China, due to war, the remains of Tiemenguan and the temple were in ruins.
The current iron gate was rebuilt in December 1990. It covers an area of 800 square meters and is 26 meters high. The gate wall is made of red sandstone. The internal structure of the city wall is made of reinforced concrete. The gate tower is warped. The overhanging eaves and rising wing corners show a strong national style.
