Analito Rybakov's novel "Children of the Arbat Street" made it famous all over the world.

Attractions distribution:

It is impossible to find out when Arbat Street was first built, but according to the official Russian "Moscow Yearbook", it can be traced back to July 28, 1493. There are two theories about the origin of Arbat Street: one is that its Russian pronunciation means "cart", and it is said that many Arabs used carts to transport goods here in the early days; the other is that it comes from Arabic, meaning "neighbor".
In the 19th century, the aristocracy and the upper class competed with each other and regarded Arbat Street as a fashion. Famous writers and poets such as Pushkin, Tolstoy, Lermontov, Gogol, as well as artists Safrasov and Borenov, musicians Scriabin, Rachmaninov, composer Rachmaninov, etc., once lived on Arbat Street. When walking on the street, you can often see nameplates nailed to the walls of buildings, indicating that a certain celebrity lived there from a certain year to a certain year.
Arbat Street is less than 1 km long. It is not as prosperous as Gorky Street or as wide as Lenin Avenue among the streets in Moscow, but it is famous for its strong cultural atmosphere. It was the cultural center of Moscow before the October Revolution. There are 4 cinemas, Vakhtangov Theater and its drama school and music school on the street. After years of evolution, the current cultural street has gradually degenerated into a jewelry, gift and art street with a strong commercial atmosphere. However, from the celebrity residences and brand names on both sides of the street, the celebrity sculptures scattered on the street, and the painters and artists on the street, you can still find the long-standing cultural atmosphere of the old street.
