1938 Pakou Department Introduction: After the "July 7" Incident in 1937, the Japanese invaders launched a full-scale war of aggression against China. In 1938, the Japanese army invaded the Central Plains. After the fall of Kaifeng on June 7, Zhongmou fell again. Zhengzhou was in crisis and Wuhan was shaken. In order to prevent the Japanese invaders from advancing westward, Chiang Kai-shek adopted the method of "replacing troops with water" and ordered the Yellow River embankment at the entrance of the garden to be opened.
