Weizhou Island is China's largest and youngest volcanic island. It is located in the middle of Beibu Gulf, Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is an island formed by volcanic eruption. It is 6.5 kilometers long from north to south and 6 kilometers wide from east to west. It has a total area of 24.74 square kilometers and a maximum altitude of 79 meters. There are sea erosion, marine accumulation and lava landscapes on the island, especially the volcanic lava and colorful living corals in the south. It is known as the "Penglai Island" of the South China Sea.Attractions distribution:
Weizhou Island is high in the south and low in the north. Nanwan Port in the south is a natural harbor formed by an ancient volcanic crater. Looking down from the sky, the whole island looks like a bow-shaped jade floating in the sea. There are more than 2,000 households and more than 16,000 people living on Weizhou Island, of which more than 75% are Hakkas. The island is surrounded by vast seas, dense vegetation and magnificent scenery. There are no large or designated shopping places on the island. Visitors can buy shellfish products, dried seafood and other specialties directly from the simple fishermen.
Don't choose to go during the Labor Day or National Day Golden Week, because round-trip boat tickets are very difficult to buy at this time, and accommodation, food, entertainment and other things on the island are also extremely expensive.
When you take a taxi, don't go to the place or restaurant that the driver takes you to, as they will overcharge you. For seafood, the farther you are from the beach, the cheaper it is.
There are no ATMs or banks on the island, only rural credit cooperatives. So if you want to go to the island, please withdraw money first.

Shopping: Weizhou Island is rich in peanuts, bananas and silk. The peanut oil produced here is golden in color, contains little water and is durable in storage. It has long been exported to Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Sea cucumbers, abalone, shark fins and eel tripe are the four famous local products that are well-known both at home and abroad.
Food: There are many seafood stalls on the island, and lobsters, prawns, crabs, red fish, mackerel, squid, conch, etc. are all good.

How to get there:
Tourists from all over the country can fly directly to Beihai, or transfer in Nanning; they can also take the train, but there are fewer trains.
