Introduction to Bayon Temple: Bayon Temple (Bayon) is located in the center of Angkor Thom. It is famous for its Buddha face pagoda and cloister murals. The entire temple is built based on the concept of Mount Sumeru (the center of the world) in Buddhist teachings. . It is divided into three floors. The lower two floors are square and the outer corridor walls are carved with story-telling reliefs. The top floor is round and has a pagoda. The 49 pagodas are all huge Erawan Buddha statues with typical Khmer faces. The 1,200-meter-long relief gallery depicts an astonishing 11,000 figures. The inner corridor is mainly about myths and religious stories, while the outer corridor is based on real life, including scenes of life from battlefield fighting to production labor and market trade.
