Introduction to the Shadow Hall: The Buddha statue of "Shadow" is placed in a new building built in 1994 to commemorate the 1,200th birthday of Ennin, who contributed a lot to the prosperity of Sensoji Temple. It is constructed of reinforced concrete, and the roof is laid with traditional tiles. On the altar in the center of the inner hall is a statue of the Holy Guanyin Bodhisattva. On the left and right sides of it are enshrined eight guardian Buddha statues consisting of one or two heavenly stems and earthly branches, as well as those who protect the birthdays of each heavenly stem and earthly branch.
