Danzhou Dongpo Academy is where Su Shi, a great writer of the Northern Song Dynasty, lived and taught when he was exiled to Hainan. It was first built in the Northern Song Dynasty (1098), and was later rebuilt and renamed to its current name in the Ming Dynasty (1549). How to get there:
Take the Haiqi bus from Haikou West Long-distance Bus Station to Yangpu, get off at the intersection of the highway between Mutang and Zhonghe Town, and transfer to a "motorcycle taxi" or "Fengcai car" at the intersection. The journey is 6 kilometers, passing Zhonghe Town, and drives directly to the gate of the academy.
