Love River in Kaohsiung is a major irrigation channel for farmland in Kaohsiung. It is known as the River of Life in Kaohsiung City and is listed as one of the eight major scenic spots in Taiwan.Attractions distribution:
The Love River in Kaohsiung originates from the Bagualiao Pond in Renwu Township, Kaohsiung County. The main stream is about 12 kilometers long and flows through the urban area of Kaohsiung for about 10.5 kilometers. Kaohsiung is called Takao because of the bamboo thorn culture of the Makadao tribe of the plains aborigines, so the Love River was first called Takao River. It was renamed Love River in 1992.There are three tributaries of the Love River: Baozhugou , Sankuaicuo Creek, Dagangxi Canal The main attractions in Aihe Scenic Area are the bridges on the river. Lingya Bridge , Kaohsiung Bridge , Zhongzheng Bridge , Seven Sages Bridge , Jianguo Bridge , Railway Bridge , Zhongdu Bridge The other main river sections are: Lingya Liao , Touqian Port , Houbi Port , Seven Roar Bridge , Chuanzaitou Port , Baozhugou , Mullet Harbor , Dagangxi Canal , Three-year-old port , Dagang wait.
