Dajing Guandi Temple is a Guandi Temple built on the ancient city wall. It is named "Dajing" and has a history of more than 400 years. After renovation, it has developed into one of the main Taoist temples of the "Zhengyi School" in Shanghai. Guandi Temple is located between Xiaolongxia Street and Baiyun Temple on Shouning Road in Shanghai, now No. 259 Dajing Road. At the beginning, Dajing Guandi Temple was located high on the city wall, with a small stream and a flat bridge under the city, green willows and red peaches, and ladies like clouds. In the 32nd year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1553), in order to resist the invasion of Japanese pirates, Shanghai built a city wall and set up four arrow towers in the north city, namely Wanjun, Zhisheng, Zhenwu and Dajing. During the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620), the arrow towers were abandoned and rebuilt into four temples, of which the Dajing Guandi Temple was one.
