Introduction to the Great Compassion Hall: The Great Compassion Hall is another main hall of the temple, dedicated to the Thousand-Hand Guanyin. It was first built by Shi Lang in the early Qing Dynasty and was called Dabei Pavilion, which is the reason why Nanputuo was renamed. The hall stands on a high stone polygonal platform behind the main hall, separated by two sections of nearly thirty stone steps. The main hall has an octagonal shape with triple cornices, and the caisson in the middle is made up of stacked bucket arches. It has an ingenious shape and a tight structure, and is commonly known as a spider's web. Believers in southern Fujian worship Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the incense is very popular.
