In ancient times, Dameng Mountain had mountains on one side and water on three sides. There was a long embankment across the lake, which ran from south to north, connected with Meitingpu, went straight to Wan'an Bridge (near Hongshan Bridge), and connected to the Beijing Post Road from the north. Lotus flowers are planted on the east and west sides of the embankment, and the lotus pavilion is built on the protruding area of the embankment. The third pavilion faces the lake, with a broad view.
